In this thesis, a method for calculation of surface temperature as well as the deep soil temperature of arable layer is presented. The suggested method, differing from existing methods, gives a possibility for calculating the deep soil temperature at the chosen depth. The method is developed on the base of assumption that the diurnal course of the soil temperature at any depth has the same shape as the diurnal course at the soil surface. The basic idea in thesis is supported by a number of other assumptions based either on the experience or physical and mathematical background of processes of heat conduction through solid materials. The method was tested using 6 observed data sets at a bare surface on chernozem soil. The data was measured during micrometeorological experiment on experimental field of the Research Institute for Field and Vegetable Crops in Rimski Sancevi (near Novi Sad, Serbia, Yugoslavia). The method is developed in order to improve procedure of prediction of temperature, by LAPS model, at the soil surface and in deeper soil layer, particularly in arable layer. LAPS model is used for parameterization of processes between land and air. Also, it can be used operationally for prediction of meteorological variables which are important from the agricultural point of view.
