A new method for determination of D-glucose in fruits and vegetables

In this study glucose electrode was prepared for determination of glucose in different fruits and vegetables samples. Sandwich type recognition layer was prepared with cellulose acetate (CA) and polycarbonate (PC) membranes. Recognition layer was contracted with hydrogen peroxide electrode polarized at 650 mV. Performance parameters of glucose electrode were obtained as follows; response time 18 s, linearity 160 mM and sensitivity 15.2 nA per mM glucose. Glucose concentration of samples were measured by using this electrode. On the other hand glucose concentration on same samples were measured with commercial enzyme kit. The correlation of results were tested. High correlation (R2=0.9982) between results give us the opportunity to use glucose electrode for determination of glucose content in fruits and vegetables with low analyze time and direct analyze of samples without pretreatment.
