An analysis of breeding value and milk production of White dairy goats in relation to their male progeny presented in the Czech markets in 2000 was made. 7,517 animals were evaluated, 5,102 of them were dairy goats. The average production of the mothers in comparison with the whole evaluated population was: +11.72 kg of milk proteins (32.96 vs. 21.24 kg), lactation number 2.49 vs 1.95, breeding value 1.66 kg vs 0.31 kg of milk proteins. The average breeding value of the male kids was +1.53 kg of milk proteins. The variability is great and not all the mothers and kids are improvers. Some recommendations how to improve the breeding value are summarized in the conclusion.
