The findings of Legionellas in water pipelines depends on many factors, including the sampling methods and their frequency. In May 2000, a unified sampling method was decided for the Czech Republic. Several investigations of Legionellas occurrence were made in the past years in 5 hospitals, 1 swiming pool and 1 glass factory in Moravia. The results differ according to the company, place (floor, room, kitchen, etc.), water temperature and use of desinfectants. It is important to follow the Legionellas frequency of occurrence in order to prevent an eventual nosocomial legionellosis.
