[Experiences with the medication of cervidae in game preserves and farms]

Parasitoses are the most frequent diseases in deer on farms and in game preserves if the veterinary survey is not sufficient. The most dangerous ones are trematodosis and lung helminthoses. The most frequent are gastro- and enterotrematodosis. Actually, two antiparasitics for deer are used and registered in the Czech Republic: Cermix premix ad usum vet. (contains ivermectine) and Rafendazol premix ad usum vet. (contains rafendazol and mebendazole). About 90 % of animals in parks and deer farms and 60-70 % of wild cervidae are administered these two drugs every year. It is also recommended to administer vitamin and mineral supplements to the animals. Two special variants of the premix Roboran are made for deer and other wild Artiodactyla in the Czech Republic by the company Biopharm.
