This study was carried out in the experimental fields of the Department of Field Crop Husbandry of the Estonian Agricultural University in 1999-2000. The main objective of the experiment was to study the effect of Calcium Nitrate Tropi-Cote sup(TM) fertilizer (manufactured by the Hydro-Agri Company), applied on the leaves of potato plants as water solution spray (foliar fertilization) or on the soil as a granular substratum (top-dress fertilization), in the period of tuber formation.
