Cereal sowings and soil infestation with Chenopodium album and its influence on the spring barley yield

The article deals with infestation level of Chenopodium album in cereals in Central part of Latvia. Weed infestation of sowings and soil of stationary observation field in Central part of Latvia were organized by Latvian State Centre of Plant Protection during 1997-2000. C. album is one of the most dominating annual weed in the spring barley sowings. The aim of this article is to describe influence of C. album on spring barley yield. Field trials were carried out on sod podzolic loam soil in Riga's region Adazhi during 1998 to 2000. Regression analyses shows that negative linear relationships between number and fresh weight of C. album and yield exists at the sufficiently high barley yield level
