Grain yield and quality of oats, barley and summer wheat varieties on different soil conditions in organic farming

In the research work the following soil properties were measured pH sub(KCl) (with pH-meter Jenway 3071), soil organic matter content, the content of soluble plant nutrients P and K by AL-method (ammonium acetate-lactate extraction by Egner-Riehm-Domingo) and the total nitrogen (by Kjeldahl). The soils were classified by Estonian soil mapping units list and World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB). Each variety was sowed on the area of 0.5 hectars and there were located 10 sampling plots for measuring yield and taking samples for explaning grain quality. 1000 grain weight, volume weight, the content of crude protein, digestible dry matter were measured and the content of metabolic energy calculated.
