RecombiVac-S was developed to control Derzsy's disease both in geese and Muscovy ducks.The structural protein VP2 of the causative parvovirus is produced in a baculovirus expression system.The self-assembled virus-like particles are formulated in an oil-based vaccine.Goose and Muscovy duck layers, previously primed with a modified live vaccine, are vaccinated once every 6 months.The offspring of breeders immunized in this way are fully protected against goose parvovirus.The vaccine has been patented in Hungary and France.
