The authors summarise their experience in sex determination of pet and wild birds during the last 6 years. During this time 1126 individuals of 44 different monomorphic birds species were sex determined by endoscop. They describe the use of endoscope equipment, the different ways of anaesthesia and give details of sex determination. They also give a description of the method of determination of sexual state and depict the shape and size of the gonads.
