In the mite survey made in 1989-1999 on ornamental trees and shrubs, 215 species of 25 mite families were identified.Among the predatory mites, Euseius finlandicus (Oudemans) and Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans) belonging to the 31 species of the familiy Phytoseiidae, and Zetzellia mali (Ewing) belonging to the 5 Stigmaeidae species occured most frequently.Among the indifferent mites, Tydeus californicus (Banks) of the family Tydeidae had the highest occurence on woody species.Species belonging to family Tydeidae occured on the highest number of plant species.Among the predatory mites, 21, 13 and 12 mites were found on species of families Salicaceae, Rosaceae and Tiliacea, resp.Among the indifferent mites 19, 18 and 15 mites were found on species of families Rosaceae, Oleaceae and Salicaceae, resp.The highest number of mite species was found on Acer campestre.
