A set of 21 monosomics of cultivar Chinese Spring was used to locate the powdery mildew resistance genes of cv. Tjalve, inoculated with isolates Nos 9 and 10 of Erysiphe graminis tritici. Genetic studies using monosomic analysis confirmed that in cv. Tjalve powdery mildew resistance was controlled by dominant and recessive genes, located on chromosomes 1A and 3B, respectively. By analysing chromosome pairing at the first metaphase (MI) of meiosis in F1 monosomic hybrids reciprocal translocation 3A/6A was identified. It was shown that in the F1 monosomic hybrids genes causing a decrease in pairing at meiosis are found on chromosomes 1A, 3B, 5D, and genes enhancing pairing - on chromosomes 7A, 5B, 6D.
