The influence of hail damage on Japanese pear trees/'KOUSUI' in blooming in terms of growth of fruit, the tree and flower-bud formation was examined. Trees damaged by hail had fewer shoots, were shorter in length and ended elongation sooner than undamaged trees. Also, the damaged trees had lower LAI, inferior fruit size and a significantly longer number of flower buds pie branch compared to undamaged trees
