This article presents the findings of microbiological experiments carried out in 1996-1999 at the Dukstas Research Station on soddy podzolicmoderately eroded sandy loam and clay loam sandy soils. The aim of the experiment was to establish the occurrence of microorganisms in the field crop and perennial grass rotations under different cropping systems. The greatest number of microorganisms was established in the intensive cropping systems in both crop rotations
