[Comparison of ways of renovation of hilly pastures with protein-rich legume mixtures]

Experiments were carried out at the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture, Dukstas Experimental Station over the period 1989-1994. The objectives of this experiment were as follows: to investigate the effect of various ways of pasture renovation on the yield and longevity of the lucerne sward; to investigate the efficiency of farmyard manure on the renovation of pastures on hilly relief. Experimental findings shoved that pasture renovation on hilly soils on average during the four years did not result in a higher sward yield. All the pasture renovation methods on hilly soils such as disking of an old pasture, ploughing, fertilizing with a farmyard manure rate of 60 t/ha, surface improvement by spraying 3 kg/ha of utal in the autumn were not efficient in comparison with an old sward fertilization with N60P60K60
