Intercropping corn with snap beans with the former as the biological trellis for the latter was studied. The project was conducted in Ilagan, Isabela [Philippines]. Findings showed that alternate planting of corn and snap beans in the same furrow at a distance of 30 cm between hills and 100 cm between furrows minimized crop competition. Two seeds per hill was recommended. It was harder to harvest pole beans in intercropped with corn varieties with stooping leaves than with erect leaves specially when the canopy was thick
