This study was conducted to develop a learning guide on commercial corn grain and seed production (CGSP) and determine its usefulness to corn farmers by evaluating the level of knowlege and skills of the farmer respondents who have and have not used the learning guide. Regression analyses on individual association of variable determined the relationships in the pretest, posttest, practical exam and posttest, and pactical examination mean scores combined. There were 82 farmer-respondents from Barangay [village] Toril, Mambago-B, and other barangays of Babak, Island Garden City of Samal [Philippines]. These farmers were grouped into two to compose the experimental and control groups. There were 41 farmers in the experimental group and another 41 farmers in the control group. The training for experimental group was held at barangay Toril, and the control group was held in barangay Mambago-B, Island Garden City of Samal. The learning guide was developed based on the four sequential steps or stages such as the design, construction, validation, and final revision stages. The effectiveness of the learning guide was tested to the experimental group of farmer respondents. Data were gathered by the use of questionnaires that consisted of pretest, posttest and practical examinations. Data were analyzed using percentages in the case of respondents' personal and economic factors; t-test for independent samples, t-test for paired or dependent samples, and one-way analysis of variance and multiple regression in stepwise fashion were used. Least Square Difference (LSD) was used when the one-way analysis of variance was found significant and regression analysis for individual associations of variables to determine the influence in the combined pretest, posttest, practical exam, and post practical exam mean scores of farmer respondents
