Sararanga philippinensis Merr., one of two species in the genus Sararanga Hemsl. (Family Pandanaceae), is currently classified as a widespread Philippine endemic with a vulnerable or potentially threatened conservation status (i.e. Category B, IUCN 1980 (Red Data Book classification system)). Information on its taxonomy, present distribution range, ecology, population size, reproductive behavior and phenology are also provided
