Genetic determination of reproduction traits in sliver fox (Vulpes vulpes)

Heritability coefficients were estimated for reproduction traits as well as genetic and phenotypic correlations between them. The genetic parameters obtained indicate that selection of females should be based on birth term, age at reaching reproduction maturity, gestation length and pup mortality, while that of males on age at reaching reproduction maturity, term of first and last service, length of reproduction season and number of females fertilized. Birth term should be an essential criterion in the selection of young animals for foundation stock
