This laboratory study was conducting to evaluation of plant residues transformation with regard to their chemical composition and soil characteristics. The results of experiment showed that chemical composition of plant residues is important in transformation processes. Sugar beet residues belong to very weak sources of organic matter and in chemical composition celulose and hemicelulose have the highest percentage (44%) in total content of organic matter. Mineralization of residues was higher in first stages and the value at the end of experiment (360 days) was 81.99% of oxidized organic carbon
