In the most researches on the rooting mechanism, the anatomic structures of the cuttings were taken into consideration. Anatomical studies done in which slides of transverse and longitudinal sections taken from one cm above of bottom of all cuttings sampled every 15 days during rooting. It was observed that there is no variation on the anatomic structures related with rooting, in cuttings of hard-to-root (Domat) and easy-to-root (Gemlik) olive cultivars. In anatomic observations, no morphological difference was showed that difficulty in rooting of Domat was not the result of sclerenchyma, but rather due to expansive an increase in the metabolic activity leading to callus formation instead of root formation. It was also observed that in olive cuttings adventitious roots were seen to emerge from the cambial zone (cambium, ray parenchyma or undifferentiated secondary xylem cells)
