Row and broadcast monoculture planting of sesame var. KU 18 and field corn var. Suwan 1, sweet corn var. super sweet DMR, and baby corn var. KBTX471 compared to their intercropped was done in Kasetsart University, Kamphaengsaen campus at Nakorn Pathorm province during June to October 1993. The result revealed that All 3 kinds of corn in intercropped plots were heigher than their minoculture check. However, when sesame boardcast intercropped with field corn and sweet corn, corn plants gave semilar height as their monoculture one except those intercropped with baby corn gave much lower plant height. The heigher population of babycorn as cormpare to other two kinds of corn make higher competition with sesame is the reason. For row planting of sesame intercropped, all 3 kinds of corn showed lower plant height as cormpare to their monoculture check. Sesame plant height in intercropped plots with field corn was lower than those in sweet corn and baby corn respectively. Yield of 3 kinds of corn and sesame in intercropped plots were lower than their monoculture check. But when evaluation was made through land equivalent ratio, it indicated that LER of all intercropped plots were higher than 1. LER of sesame intercropped with sweetcorn was 33-36 percent and that intercropped with baby corn was 28 percent while that intercropped with field corn was only 1 percent.
