[Paisa under conditions of the radioactivelly polluted soils [of Polissya (Ukraine's Forest zone)]]

The studies were conducted on the use of paisa for the feed purposes under conditions of Polissya (Ukraine's Forest zone). This crop is not widespread although it has high productivity and feed value. A new highly-productive variety of paisa, Lebedyna 2, is created. The studies showed high adaptive properties of the crop in Polissya. Durability of the paisa's vegetation period corresponds to the possible climatic durability of the vegetation and does not exceed heat balance limits. Paisa is more early crop than maize (the stage of full ripeness of the seeds comes 10-12 days prior to milk ripeness of maize). According to the data of chemical analysis the average crude protein content for three years stood at 11.94 %, in particular in maize - 11.02 % to absolute dry matter in all the variants of fertilizing. There is an economic and ecological advisability of growing the paisa for green forage and silage on the radioactivelly polluted soils of Ukrainian Polissya
