[Changes in properties of soils on the banks of Kyiv Water Reservoir]

The processes are studied that are taking place in the soils of the territories attached to the water reservoirs in the Dnieper water reservoirs cascade. The characteristics are provided of the soils in the forest soil and climatic zone of Kyiv Water Reservoir. Regions are isolated which soils are subjected to flooding with filtration waters that flow from the reservoir's cup in the direction of the drainage ditch. Changes in the radioactive pollution of the bank soils are under investigation. The schematic division by the regions of Kyiv reservoir's territory is conducted according to the flooding intensity pattern, soil abrasion and erosion. Increase in humus content, soil's neutralization reactions, decrease in hydrolytic acidity of the flooded soils is revealed. Radioactivity is determined of radionuclides 137Cs in the soils of the banks of Kyiv Water Reservoir
