The effect of genotype and sowing date on yield and yield components of the genus Amaranthus L. was studied. The study included five Amaranthus sp. genotypes and two sowing dates. The parameters monitored during the growing season were the following: budding time, flowering and seed maturity. A field trial was conducted in order to study the dynamics of the formation of plant mass and leaf mass till technological maturity of the leaves. The parameters monitored at leaf technological maturity and seed maturity were the yield, components of yield and quality. The studied genotypes exhibited biological differences related to growing conditions.
