Possibility of using leaves of brussels sprouts in human nutrition

During two-year investigations (1998-1999) with brussels sprouts, variety Lunet, it was established that brussels sprouts with density of 35700 plants per it hectare, realized yield of 12.1 t/ha sprouts, 22.5 t/ha leaves and 12.8 t/ha stem. Sprouts participated 25%, leaves 50% and stem 25% of the total plant mass. Chemical analyses showed high quality of leaves. In some parameters better than sprouts. On the basis of these results, brussels sprouts can be recommended these for human nutrition instead of kale.
