HPLC [high pressure liquid chromatography] of tosylated xylitol derivatives on reversed phases

Retention behaviour and retention mechanisms of tosylated xylitol derivatives in HPLC on reversed phases was studied. Three commertial columns were used: LiChrosper RP-8 5 micrometer 150x4.6 mm and Nucleosil 100-5 C-18 5 micrometer 150x4.6 mm and Spherisorb ODS-1 5 micrometer 250x4 mm differnig in the lenght. Mobile phases were methanol-water and acetonitrile-water in various proportions.
