Xanthan biosynthesis on enriched water for spent grains washing

Yeast extract, citric acid and microelements were added in biosynthesis medium based on enriched spent grains liquor (as the source of C and N atoms as well as microelements and growing factors). Influence of these supplements on production of xanthan by itself strain and reisolation strain was studied. The initial content of nitrogen in the last running spent grains liquor was not enough, but with adding of yeast extract, the xanthan yield had better results. Better effects on xanthan yield were realized with adding of microelements and citric acid as well. The better results of xanthan yield are obtained with Am strain in all testing broths.
