Browse from trees and shrubs is a valuable and often, indispensable part of the diet of livestock in developing countries. Attempts to introduce or reinstall these species, are frequently met with failure. The cause must be sought not in technicalities, but in complexity of integrating such plantations in the production system of the livestock owner. The conditions for their exploitation either on state-or privately owned land are stringent and should be fully realized in order to achieve a higher rate of success
