A detailed methodology of management practices has been developed for marginal regions in the Czech Republic where there are unfavourable conditions for the development of agricultural production. An important part of this study was the pre-final processing of raw material, i.e. methods for removal of grain coat layers that are ballast materials in the technological process of ethanol production. Obtained results contribute not only to the technology of the fermentation process but as well as to the feed industry which can use the separated grain coat layers together with distillers' grains (waste) in the production of animal feed with a good nutritive value. Their utilization in food additives for human nutrition may also be suitable.
