Effects of mycorrhizas and inoculation for growth of Alnus in stress-conditions

Speckled alder (Alnus incana) is a tree which could be used for amelioration and mountain forest recultivation, even in higher altitudes. Its importance consists in the possibility to use this woody species as an pioneer species and to improve extremely poor soils by increasing nitrogen content. At the Alnus species symbiosis with root-nodule nitrogen fix¡ng bacteria (Frankia) is known as well as at the same time with mycorrhiza.
