The background level of Cd, Hg and Pb in Estonian arable soils is 0.13; o.o75 and 8.2 mg kg sup(-1) accordingly. The most part of Estonian soils belong by the content of Cd, Hg and Pb to the class of low and medium. There are no arable soils with very high and dangerous content of Cd, Hg and Pb in Estonia
