Seed longevity during storage is an important factor influencing the seed viability and quality. The inheritance of seed longevity was studied in four crosses, two each in T. aestivum and T. durum using generation mean analysis. It was found to be governed by both dominance and additive components; the epistatic components were also important in some crosses. Cytoplasmic genes also influenced the seed longevity.
