[Basic research on the lodging of soybean and on its control]

If soybean plants were lodged, it reduced the yield 20-50 percent and, especially, lodging at the flowering stage reduced 50 percent. The soybean varieties susceptible to the lodging had great reaction for the number of plants per phyong as compared with the lodging resistant varieties. The change of index concerned with soybean lodging according to the cultivating methods was decreased in the early period of growth and was increased in the middle and latter periods
