Production of hyperimmune serum against rotavirus infection and anaerobic dysentery of lambs

Hyperimmune serums are widely recognized and used in diagnostics, prophylaxis, and therapy of many infectious diseases resulted from bacterial and viral microflora. A series of studies for development of hyperimmune serum against rotaviral infection and anaerobic dysentery is done with the aim of prophylaxis and therapy of these diseases in newborn lambs. On studying of activity of the serum, it is determined that after hyperimmunization in the serum of blood serum of horses antitoxins to anaerobic dysentery at the rate of 8-16 AU/ml are formed. After the first cycle of hyperimmunization, their content was at the level of 60-120 AU/ml in the groups of animals while introduction into various parts of the body separately, and the largest quantity - in the group vaccinated with monoantigene Cl. perfringens (120 AU/ml). The possibility of production of hiperimmune serum against rotaviral infection and anaerobic dysentery from horses is established. The optimal regimen for hyperimmunization of donor-animals which allows to produce specific hyperimmune serum with the activity of 1:512 - 1024 in IAR to rotaviral infection and 110-140 AU/ml to anaerobic dysentery.
