Whey they are not feeding on caterpillars, these insects survive mainly on the nectar and other liquids secreted by various nectariferous plants. This article introduces several plant species which have been proven beneficial for pest control and are encouraged for planting in the oil palm field. The species are Cassia cobanensis, Euphorbia heterophylla, Antigonon leptopus and the white and yellow-flower varieties of Turnera.
