Study on length frequency distribution, relative condition factor and otolith weight of Euryglossa orientalis from Karachi coast, Pakistan
2001
Khan, M.A. (Karachi Univ. (Pakistan). Marine Reference Collection and Resource Centre)
Euryglossa orientalis (Bloch & Schnider) is a wide spread species along the coast of Pakistan. Relative condition factor reveals that maturation starts in different months, i.e. January, September and February in female, and September, January-February in male, size groups of 140-170 mm mark for their beginning of maturation. Length frequency studies were made which hint at spawning during February-March. The relationship between otolith weight and fish length of male and females was examined.
