Rice as porridge or "lugaw", traditionally fed to babies, was enriched with 12% reconstituted skimmed and fresh milk to improve its protein content. In addition, rice in the form of moist ground rice or galapong was treated similarly with reconstituted skim milk and fresh milk. The ratio of the rice porridge to the milk was 50:50 while the moist ground rice to the milk was 25:75, respectively. Analysis of the protein content of the experimental formulation showed an average values of 3.6 and 2.4% for galapong and lugaw mixture, respectively. Similarly, analysis was done on commercially manufactured infant weaning food labeled "cereal with applesauce and banana" and "rice with chicken and vegetables". Results of the protein content were 0.24 and 1.09%, respectively. The developed weaning food was superior to the commercially manufactured in terms of protein content
