From the phytopathological point of view Heterobasidion annosus belongs to the most significant woody pests in a forest ecosystems. The semi - quantitative aspect of sporulation of Heterobasidion annosus fruitbodies was studied at three localities in Central Slovakia from February 1997 to May 1998. The removed fruitbodies were analysed microscopically. Except for frost days Heterobasidion annosus liberates its basidiospores during the whole year
