We tested the new one-part diluent Merck 3 (MINITUB, FRG) in three agricultural enterprises, and we compared it with the originally used two-part diluent Korinat (Mevak, SR). Following results were achieved with the diluent Korinat during the months March to May in 1998: pregnancy on average 74.82%, number of all born piglets from 10.05 to 10.33, with number of live born piglets from 9.22 to 10.08. Weaning per sow and year was from 17.35 to 18.25 animals. In 1999 in the same time period with the diluent Meck 3 was achieved average pregnancy 81.30%, the number of all born piglets from 10.09 to 10.21, out of them born alive from 9.37 to 10.10. Weaning per sow and year was 17.42 to 18.50 animals. The achieved results (Tab. 1) show that the new technology of semen processing with the diluent Merck 3 is more effective than the hitherto used methods
