Application of the Avit-35 liquid fertilizer on sugar beet

In the years 1992-1996 the effect of the Avit-35 liquid fertilizer on the yield and quality of sugar beet in small-plot and semioperational experiments on three different localities in South-western part of the Slovak Republic (warm and moderate dry climatic region) (Kolinany - small-plot experiments and semioperational experiment in year 1995 too, Velke Uherce - semioperational experiments, Horna Malanta - small-plot experiment) was studied. Synergically affecting mixture of organo-mineral complexes after application in the phase of the 8th to 11th leaf, (application in the phase of the 9th to 10th leaf is optimal) in small-plot experiments increased the sugar beet root yield in individual years by 10.12 - 13.32 - 10.81 - 11.24 - 5.71 t/ha compared with water treated control variant. The sugar content was increased by 0.4 - 1.6 degree S. Under unfavourable weather in the year 1996 (the foliar application was realised in the later phase than is optimal) the increase of refined sugar was the smallest. In nine small-plot and semioperational experiments with Avit-35 preparation the sugar beet root yield increased by 15.4% in average compared with control variant where the yield 55.11 t/ha was attained. The sugar content was increased by 4.5% and average value was 17.8 degree S. Concurrently with higher sugar beet quality the increase of refined sugar by 25.4% was reached in comparison with control
