Survey of parasites in Gallus gallus domesticus in Nakornsrithamarat province

Parasites were investigated from gastro-intestinal tracts of domestic fowls (Gallus gallus domesticus) in Nakornsrithamrat Province from October 1995 to September 1996 6 species of parasite were recovered. They were 1 species of trematoda, Prosthogonimus sp., 3 species of cestode, Amoebotaenia sp., Raillietina spp. and Hymenolepis cantaniana and 2 species of nematode, Ascardia galli and Heterakis galinarum. Most of parasites have highest prevalence in June to October that is the rainy season and have lowest prevalence in February to April that is the summer. From this study found that trematode and cestode have many infection at small intestine and nematode have many infection at ileum, caeca and cloaca.
