Forest has numerous and almost immeasurable valuable functions. The economic function of forests, first of all wood volume production, is inseparable from the function of carbon dioxide fixing and the release of oxygen. Forest utilization is in the function of creating the stable and highly productive forest, i.e. ecosystem in general. Forest utilization should be supported in such a way to that, by better technical equipment, it fulfills all the requirements, e.g. damage on the remaining trees, etc. Timber industry should be adpted to the new characteristics of the raw material, first of all as a result of intermediate cuttings.
