Agroecological and genetical aspects of the protein complex wheat grain formation

Analyzed results confirmed high variability in the formation and utilization of the storage proteins in the cereal grain. The formation and accumulation of the storage proteins in the grain is greatly mediated by agroecological conditions of growing and mainly by the level of nitrogen nutrition and climatic conditions during the grain filling (warmth, humidity). The formation of storage proteins reveals an increasing tendency during the whole period of grain formation. By means of foliar application of the nitrogen nutrition there arises a real possibility to solve the rise in the grain protein content.
