[The earlines and yield of young onion depending on species (A. [Allium] cepa and A. [Allium] fistulosum L.) and way of growing up in grean house]
2002
Todorovic, V.
Onion and Welsh onion belong to the same section and they have a great number of common characteristics. The nutritive value (especially the vitamin C, K, S, Se) and a small need for heat is characteristics for onion as well as for Welsh onion. The experiment was carried out on random block system in four cycles. The two sorts of Allium cepa L. were examined, the Holland yellow of class 1st and 2nd grown up from onion bulb, and Glacier of class 1st and 2nd grown up from onion bulb and from seedling. It was also examined the sort Paradis, type Allium fistulosum L. grown up from seedling and from direct seeding. The young onion of sort Allium cepa L. in greenhouse without heating can be profitably produced from the 1st class onion bulb. Type Allium fistulosum L. can be produced by direct seeding on the permanent place. Concidering yield and earliness, there would be achieved better results by heating the green house.
