The influence of moisture content and drying regime onto mechanical properties of soybean
2001
Pivnicki, G.
The study was determined in order to evaluate the influence of drying regime and kernel moisture content onto mechanical properties of soybeans. Testing material was prepared at laboratory scale as steady layer and tested on convective dryer. Three types of data were used as indicators of mechanical properties and they were: 1. secant modulus of elasticity with 0.5 mm deformation (Esub(s); 0.5); 2. breaking force (Fsub(R)); 3. chrashed grain percentages. The laboratory tests confirmed the influence of analysed factors onto mechanical properties of soybeans. Mathematical correlation of examined properties with these two factors was determined too. Secant modulus of elasticity, as indicator of some soybean mechanical properties, was defined by originally method which is described in the thesis.
