Gunshot injury in a dog - case report
2002
Andreas, Z. (Veterinarni Ordinace, Telc (Czech Republic))
The article describes two different cases of gunshot injury in dogs. The first case was a bullet found in a xyphoid region of abdominal cavity. Because of not clear history, car accident had been primarily suspected. After x-ray examination of abdominal cavity, the bullet was removed through ventral midline celiotomy. In the case of the second dog which had been treated during two weeks for intoxication, the radiology revealed surprisingly a bullet within its penile urethra, causing incomplete obstruction of lower urinary tract. The bullet was removed by urethrotomy and an incision was left for the healing.
