A mushroom-production is increasing the amount of spent compost has also increased. Its recycling is still an unsolved problem. Our experiments on Szent Istvan University, Faculty of Horticultural Sciences, Department of Vegetable and Mushroom Growing were ought to solve this problem. The compost increases the nutrition content of the soils, helps to increase the airification of heavy clay soils, helps to increase the water capacity of sandy soils, after mixing up with sand and turf it is excellent for preparing substrates for transplant production, after mixing up with soils of low nutrition content is good for plant production in containers.
