Position of fruit and apple consumption - the results of a survey

The apple sector had an important role in Hungarian fruit production, and it can keep its leading role also in the future. This would happen only if all the participants of the whole process - the producers, the merchandisers and the processors - were able to meet the changing requirements. The aim of this paper is to appraise the consumers'attitude to fruit consumption on the basis of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was carried out during summer, in 2001. The results show that most of domestic consumers eat apple through the year, but mainly in autumn and winter.
