Autumn lady's tresses (Spiranthes spiralis L. Chevall) on the Pazmandi-rocks, Hungary
2002
Tamas, J. | Csontos, P.
New population of Spiranthes spiralis (a protected orchid of Hungary) was discovered at the Calvary Hill part of Pazmandi-rocks near the village Pazmand, Central Hungary. In September, 2002, fifteen flowering individuals were observed and the total abundance of the population was estimated at least thirty specimens. The majority of the known occurences of this species in Hungary were reported from Transdanubia, however two records are also known from the southern part of the Danube-Tisza midregion. Though the new occurence is located in Transdanubia, too, it is beyond the territory of a convex polygon shaped by connecting the outermost known records. By the new occurence the inhabited area of this species in Hungary is enlarged towards north-east direction.
